This awesome book is math made simple for grades 5-7. It is also great for adults who need basic math understanding. This booked is authored by Dr. Professor Steven A White, a professor from the college of Southern Nevada, who has been acknowledged as Outstanding Professor, 3 years in a row from the college.

Here’s a cute way to explain Division!
EXAMPLE: 379 d/b (Divided By) 9
Does (Division)
EXAMPLE: 37 d/b 9 = 4
MacDonalds (Multiplication)
EXAMPLE: 4 x 9 = 36
Sell (Subtraction)
EXAMPLE: 37 – 36 = 1
Cheese (Compare with the Divisor to make sure it’s OK)
EXAMPLE: 1 is less than 9, so go on
Burgers (Bring down the next #)
EXAMPLE: 1 is there; bring down the 9 makes 19.
Repeat MSC & B
EXAMPLE: 19 d/b 9 = 2. Put the 2 up by the 4, multiply 2 x 9, put
18 under the 19. Subtract, and the number left over is 1.
Rare? (Remainder: can be expressed as R_, a fraction, or a decimal).
EXAMPLE: 42 r. 1, 42 1/9, or 42.111 (Can round it to 42.1 or 42.11)

I’ve also used this combination (and called it the Division Family):
Dad (Division)
Mom (Multiplication)
Sister (Subtract)
Brother (Bring down)
Rover (Remainder).
That’s cute, too, and gives the basic steps. I think the first example would be
more memorable, especially for Primary and Middle Graders.
